Camp Turtle Trap has traditionally been a place where preschool children can spend their summers in a safe, high quality, play-based learning environment. Water play, special guests and activities fill each day with joy and fun!
Another element has been added throughout the years is a professional learning community. CTT has become a learning community where young adults can learn and be exposed to the world of early childhood. Whether the decision is discerning long-term career goals or choosing an age level to receive your degree in, CTT provides a safe place for exploration. Staff are trained in the necessary skills of early childhood and afforded an opportunity to put into practice their skill sets.

Our Camp Team benefits richly as these young adults use their skills to lead our youngest learners. To see the joy on their face each day as they enter the building, ready to spend the day guiding our eager campers is such a joy!
What a rewarding position to be in as we watch the summer staff return summer after summer, each year watching them grow and blossom. When many start, they are assistants, learning the field from their lead teacher. As the years progress, the staff tackle additional responsibilities such as lead counselor.

By the time graduation occurs, they have dried their butterfly wings and morphed into their final career. They have the foundational skills needed to grow in whatever field they will chose. Communication and leadership skills gleaned through their years here, will benefit any role. This year, we were blessed to have an amazing summer team of gifted educators to join us!

Below are some of their accomplishments and future plans:
Bea: I will be working in a classroom at Parish Day School.
